  • Basic Knowledge Of Tarpaulins
    PVC tarpaulins are multifunctional protective materials made of high-strength polyester canvas as the base material, coated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin and added with anti-mildew, anti-aging and other chemical additives, and made by high-temperature plasticization. They are waterproof, cold-resistant, acid-resistant and alkali-resistant, and are often used in freight, construction sites and open-air storage. PE tarpaulins are lightweight tarpaulins made of polyethylene (PE) as raw materials. They have low production costs and are easy to fold, but their durability and anti-aging capabilities are weak, and they are mostly used for short-term covering or low-cost scenarios.
  • Characteristics And Advantages Of Tarpaulins
    The core advantages of PVC tarpaulins are high-strength wear resistance (tear strength is several times higher than that of traditional tarpaulins), excellent waterproofness (hydrostatic pressure can reach more than 2000mm) and weather resistance (still flexible at low temperatures of -20℃), suitable for long-term outdoor use; PE tarpaulins are mainly lightweight (only a few grams per square meter) and economical (the price is only 1/3~1/2 of PVC), but they are easy to age and have limited waterproofness, suitable for temporary covering or low-budget needs.
  • Use And Maintenance Of Tarpaulins
    Avoid sharp objects from scratching the tarpaulin during use. When installing, keep the slope above 15° and fix it with piles. Daily maintenance requires regular cleaning with neutral detergent (pH6-8), avoid contact with strong acids and alkalis or high temperatures (>80℃); fold and sprinkle talcum powder to prevent adhesion during storage, and control the humidity below 65%. In terms of damage repair, PVC tarpaulins can be treated with heat seals or special adhesives, while PE tarpaulins need to be replaced in time to avoid further damage.
  • Customization And Purchase Guide For Pvc/Pe Tarpaulins
    When customizing, you need to pay attention to the base material (polyester/Oxford cloth base material is better than ordinary canvas), coating process (PVC coating has strong adhesion, PE film has weak waterproofness) and dimensional tolerance (precision affects the splicing effect). Purchase suggestions: Give priority to products with a thickness of ≥0.45mm and a waterproof grade of IPX4 or above; PE tarpaulins are suitable for short-term cargo yard covering, while PVC tarpaulins are more suitable for high-frequency transportation or highly corrosive environments; the quality can be judged by checking the stitch density, flatness and waterproof test (water droplets cannot penetrate for 30 seconds), and the manufacturer's qualifications and test reports must also be verified.
